It's Week 6 of the Thomas Ford Library Summer Reading Programs!

There’s still time to register for children, tweens, teens, and adult Summer Reading Programs at the Thomas Ford Library. To register in person, come to 800 Chestnut St., Western Springs throughout the summer. To register online, click fordlibrary.org
While on the Library’s website, check out the dazzling array of programs and events that comprise the Summer Reading Programs. The offerings for young readers will fall under the themes of “Every Hero Has a Story” and “One Heroic Summer;” those for adults are themed “Groundbreaking Reads: Ideas that Shook the World.” All age groups will read, earn prizes, and have a great time. Here are some of this week’s events:
Monday, July 13, 2-4 PM: Movies & Makers Monday: Catch a Percy Jackson & The Olympians movie and “shock” your friends when you demonstrate your spark generating device we’re going to make! Grades 6-12.

Tuesday, July 14, 7-8 PM: Heroes Persevere! Minute To Win It. This fun filled night of quick games, steady hands, and laugh out loud challenges will test your perseverance, and it’ll be good for a lot of laughs too. Bring a friend! Snacks provided. Grades 6-12.
Wednesday, July 14, 4:30-5:15 PM: Thank-a-Hero: Who is your hero? Join us as we create cards to thank heroes near and far. We will send some of our cards to members of the military and local heroes. Grades K-4.

Thursday, July 15, 2:30-4:30 PM: Library Table & Storytime at the French Market: Library fun in the sun on selected Market Days at the French Market in front of the Village Green in Western Springs. Bring your lil’ sprouts to the French Market for a special outdoor storytime from 3-3:30 p.m. All ages; no registration.
Thursday, July 15, 6:45-7:30 PM: Family Storytime: Hear stories, sing songs, and make an art project in this special evening storytime for families. All ages.
