Street Paving Begins Oct. 8 on 48th Street, then Johnson and Franklin Avenues

Residents who believe they will need access to their driveways between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. may want to move cars onto a nearby street.

A contractor plans to begin paving Oct. 8 at 48th Street, from Wolf to Fair Elms, weather permitting, according to a Western Springs news flash.

After paving 48th Street, crews will move to Johnson Avenue and Franklin Avenue from 47th to 48th Streets. Parking will continue to be limited on these streets, according to the news flash.

Residents who believe they will need access to their driveways between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. may want to move cars onto a nearby street that isn’t affected by the project.

The roadway will reopen to the public at the end of the day. An update will be posted with more upcoming construction schediules, according to the news flash.
