Strings and Winds Classical Music Program

Western Springs Music Club's September 2016 Program

“Strings and Winds” welcomed all members and guests of the Western Springs Music Club at its September classical music program held at the First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange.

Michele Lekas (violin) and Nola Gustafson (piano) performed Mozart’s Sonata for piano and violin K.304 and Beethoven’s Sonata for piano and violin Op. 30, No. 3.

Guitarist Jason Deroche performed two pieces by Agustin Barrios “La Catedral” and “Un Sueno en la Floresta.”

Beethoven’s Sonata Op 27, No. 2 was performed by pianist Nancy Hagen; and

Dennis Smith and Jennifer Petkus (Clarinet) accompanied by pianist Michael Surratt performed Mendelssohn’s Concertpiece No. 2, opus 114 and Carlos Gardel’s “Melodia de arrabal” and Por una cabeza.”

The afternoon program was engaging and a terrific start to our 96th season.
