Summer Reading Week 2: lots to see and do!
Thomas Ford Library Summer Reading Program offers movies, crafts, eBooks, and much more!

Registration is underway for children, tweens, teens, and adult Summer Reading Programs at the Thomas Ford Library. To register in person, come to 800 Chestnut St., Western Springs throughout the summer. To register online, click fordlibrary.org
While on the Library’s website, check out the dazzling array of programs and events that comprise the Summer Reading Programs. The offerings for young readers will fall under the themes of “Every Hero Has a Story” and “One Heroic Summer;” those for adults are themed “Groundbreaking Reads: Ideas that Shook the World.” All age groups will read, earn prizes, and have a great time. Here are some of this week’s events:
Monday, June 15, 2-4 PM: Movies & Makers Monday for grades 6-12

Tuesday, June 16, 1-2:30 PM: Tuesday Movies for all ages. Bring your pillow and chill out by watching G-rated movies on June 16 and July 28. An adult must stay in the room with children under 5. Drop-in event; no registration required. (please see the Library website for movie titles)
Tuesday, July 15, 7-8 PM: Modular Felt Trivets for grades 9-12 and adults. Fit together cut pieces of felt to cleverly form trivets, coasters, and more. Bring a cutting board. All other supplies are provided.

Wednesday, June 17, 7-8:30 PM: Digital Books and Magazines for adults. Want to borrow digital books and magazines instead of buying them? We have digital downloads available to you with your Thomas Ford library card. Reference librarian Rick Roche will demonstrate Media on Demand, eRead Illinois, and Flipster. Bring your device and your questions.
