Superbowl Weekend Brings Enhanced Patrols to Cook County
Seat belt enforcement patrols will take place Jan. 30 to Feb. 1.
Cook County Sheriff’s police will conduct specialized seat belt enforcement patrols from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 through unincorporated Cook County.
According to a news release, a similar enhanced enforcement patrol from Dec. 19, 2014, to Jan. 4, 2015, resulted in:
- 7 arrests for driving on a revoked or suspended license
- 119 citations for seat belt law violations
- 27 citations for speeding
- 35 citations for driving without insurance
This special enforcement is funded through grants from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
