'Systemic Racism' Cited In Western Springs Resolution
White supremacy is on the rise around the world, the village's document states.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – The Western Springs Village Board is set to vote Monday on a resolution honoring Juneteenth, which was June 19.
On June 19, 1865, a Union general announced in Galveston the ending of the Civil War and the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth became an annual celebration in Galveston's African American community and then spread across the United States.
The Western Springs resolution states white supremacist and white nationalist hate groups are on the rise around the world.
