Theatre Of Western Springs Presents 'Silent Sky'
The play is the true story of an amazing group of female astronomers who helped us better understand the vastness of the universe.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL β The Theatre of Western Springs presents the first Mainstage play of its 90th season, βSilent Sky,β written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Karen Holbert. The play takes place from Sept. 6 to 16, at TWS, 4384 Hampton Ave., Western Springs.
According to the theatre, the show will run at 8 p.m. on Sept. 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15' 2:30 p.m. Sept. 9, 15 and 16; and at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9. βSilent Skyβ is the inspiring true story of astronomyβs βHidden Figuresβ in the early 1900s. The theatre said the story blends science, family obligations and new love.
βThe cast and crew are so excited to be presenting this work by Lauren Gunderson, one of today's most important female playwrights,β Holbert, the director of the show, said in a release. βIn βSilent Sky,β she tells the true story of an amazing group of female astronomers who helped us better understand the vastness of the universe. Their story is told with humor and love for all who look to the stars.β

The cast includes Karen Arnold of Westmont, Eileen Duban of Lisle, Carrie Cerri of La Grange, Mark MacLean of Willow Springs and Tammy OβReilly of La Grange.
