Theft, $8K Fraud: Western Springs Cops

A $500 telescope was stolen from the front of a house, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Theft

  • A telescope was stolen between 4:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the front of a house in the 900 block of Lawn Circle. It was valued at $500.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 1500 block of Oak Street told police Thursday that three fraudulent checks were written from her account a couple of days earlier. The checks amounted to $8,126.

Driving violations

  • A Blue Island man was arrested about 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ogden and Hampton avenues on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured car, driving with an expired registration and possessing less than 10 grams of marijuana.
