Thefts from Cars on the Rise in La Grange

About 15 thefts from cars have been reported since April 30 in La Grange.

Criminals are entering cars primarily south of 47th Street and east of La Grange Road, according to the village.

Wallets, change and electronic devices have been stolen from unlocked cars in each case. Residents are asked to take their keys, lock their cars and hide valuable items from plain view.

The village advises that thieves typically park their cars in one place and walk to another location to steal something, and strange noises or barking dogs could indicate trouble.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity should call 911 immediately, according to the village.
