Twins Start Food Drive For Those Affected By Hurricane Florence
The two Western Springs fourth graders started a virtual food drive for those affected by Hurricane Florence.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Two Western Springs fourth graders are helping those affected by Hurricane Florence in North Carolina. Nine-year-old twins Will and Evan McCargo decided to set up a food drive for people affected by the hurricane.
"We saw what was happening on the news and how it was leaving people without food, water and basic supplies," the boys said. "This made us feel really sad and we wanted to help. Our grandparents, uncles and other family and friends live in North Carolina and we visit the beach a lot."
Their mom, Anastasia McCargo, said they couldn't find a way to get the supplies to North Carolina, so they decided to do it virtually. The boys decided to start with a goal of $300, and within 24 hours, they had raised over $1,000.

Now, the boys want to hit $1,500, which as of this writing, they are only $9 away from their goal.
"We felt super happy to see people donating money for the food drive," Will and Evan said. "We were also super surprised that we were able to raise so much money so fast! It was so cool to check the updates and see the donations getting bigger. We've learned that we can really do anything in as little as 24 hours! And we are just kids! How awesome is that?"
