Unlocked Car Stolen In Western Springs: Cops

Two burglaries of unlocked cars were reported in the village, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – An unlocked car was stolen overnight Friday in the 3800 block of Howard Avenue in Western Springs, police said.

The key fob was inside the car, which was parked in a driveway, police said.

  • A resident in the 1400 block of Sunset Terrace told police that someone entered his unlocked car parked in his driveway. A briefcase valued at $1,400 was stolen. The report was filed Sept. 13.
  • A resident in the 4300 block of Western Avenue told police that someone ransacked his unlocked car parked in his driveway overnight Sept. 12. Nothing appeared to be missing.
