Western Springs Calls For Shutdown Of Sterigenics
Gallagher requested the state file an action which would result in a temporary restraining order of the company.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Village President Alice Gallagher has joined several other communities in calling for Willowbrook-based facility Sterigenics to temporarily shut down. According to a letter addressed to the Illinois Attorney General, Western Springs is requesting an immediate shut down after inconsistent and inconclusive data from air tests regarding ethylene oxide emissions.
Gallagher requested the state file an action which would result in a temporary restraining order of the company.
"This action is necessary for public health and welfare until it can be proven that the inside and outside air quality in our area is safe, and there is no risk to the public," Gallagher wrote.
