Western Springs Coronavirus: Garbage Changes
Garbage company is restricting what it collects to counter the coronavirus.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs' garbage company will continue to do weekly pickup as scheduled, but it is making changes to reduce the risk to their drivers during the coronavirus epidemic, the village said in an announcement Friday.
Effectively immediately, Lakeshore Recycling Services will not collect loose material, bulk items such as mattresses and furniture, appliances, electronic waste and other large items at the curb. This includes all waste and recyclable items placed outside of a resident's cart. Exceptions to this policy will be bags that are stickered (garbage or yard waste, which starts April 1) and user-owned containers that are also stickered.
