Improper backing

Debra L. Murphy, 41, of Crown Point, IN, was cited for improper backing after Western Springs police said she backed into a parked car while attempting to exit her parking space on Burlington Avenue.

Saturday, April 20

Improper backing

Paul A. Jost, 52, of the 1000 block of Longmeadow Lane, was cited for improper backing after police said he hit a car while he was backing out of a parking space on Burlington Avenue.

Thursday, April 18

Failure to reduce speed

Peter L. Barritt, 49, of the 1800 block of East York Lane in Wheaton, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, police said. The driver of the second car was slowing down to avoid hitting the car ahead of it, which was stopped in a turn lane. Barritt hit the second driver, causing that car to hit the car stopped in the turn lane, police said. No injuries were reported.
