Western Springs Crash Results In Arrest: Cops

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A man was arrested over the weekend in Western Springs after a two-car crash, police said.

Jose E. Rodriguez, 59, of Aurora, was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of open alcohol, improper left turn into oncoming traffic and driving an uninsured car.

The crash was about 4:30 p.m. Saturday at 47th Street and Wolf Road, police said.

Police said Rodriguez smelled of alcohol and that open beer cans were found in his car.

He was released on bond.

In the only other local crime report in the last week, someone cut the electric power cord for lighted deer lawn decorations in the 5100 block of Grand Avenue. The display was valued at $300. The incident was reported Sunday.
