Western Springs Deputy Police Chief Retires

He was with the police department for two decades.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs Deputy Chief Daniel Albrecht officially retired May 1 after more than two decades with the police department, the village announced Monday.

The village posted a news release a few hours after Patch inquired about Albrecht's departure.

In his 22 years, Albrecht had served in roles such as patrol officer, detective and sergeant, according to the village. He was promoted to deputy chief in 2017.

"The Village congratulates him on his retirement and wishes him well," the village said in its news release.

In an email to Patch, village spokeswoman Selmin Cicek said the position would be advertised soon.

She referred further questions to Police Chief Brian Budds. Patch left a message for comment with the chief.
