Western Springs DUI Suspect Leaves Crash: Cops

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A Western Springs man is accused of drunken driving and leaving the site of a crash, police said.

Arthur R. Velasquez, 58, who lives in the 4700 block of Fair Elms, was charged with DUI, leaving the scene of a crash, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving an uninsured vehicle.

The crash was about 7 p.m. Saturday at 47th Street and Central Avenue, police said.

He was found after he drove away from the crash. He then refused to submit to field sobriety tests, police said.

He was released on bond.
