Western Springs Fire Chief Designated 'Chief Fire Officer'
Patrick J. Kenny is one of only 964 chief fire officers worldwide.

Western Springs Fire Department chief Patrick J. Kenny has been awarded the professional designation of “Chief Fire Officer.”
Kenny went through a process to assess his education, experience, professional development, technical competencies, contributions to the profession, community involvement and his future professional development plan, according to a Center for Public Safety Excellence news release.
Kenny is one of only 964 chief fire officers worldwide.

“Chief Kenny has a rich knowledge of the emergency services profession and has far surpassed critical core competencies for personnel serving in senior fire officer positions,” the news release stated.
The Commission on Professional Credentialing officially awarded Kenny the designation.
