Western Springs Girl Becomes Greater Chicago Soap Box Derby Champion
She qualified for the international championships in Akron, Ohio.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Roni Doron, a Western Springs resident, recently won the local Soap Box Derby championship and went on to become the Greater Chicago Soap Box Derby champion.
Through her championship win, she also qualified to compete at the international championships in Akron, Ohio.
The activity involves gravity-powered racing events. The Chicago program involves children and young adults from 7 to 20. It was established in 1986.
