Western Springs Historical Society Hosts Housewalk

The biennial fundraiser takes place May 17 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. throughout the Village of Western Springs.

The Western Springs Historical Society House Walk will feature tours inside six homes.

The biennial fundraiser takes place May 17 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. throughout the Village of Western Springs, according to the society. The Tower Green will be the central meeting place to buy tickets.

The Tower Green is also the center of activities and games from 1 to 4 p.m. while parents tour the homes. Attendees are also invited to visit the Hospitality Oasis located at The Village Club of Western Springs, 4221 Lawn Ave., where restrooms will be available, tours of the historic facility with be given. Light refreshments will be served, compliments of The Village Club.

A wide range of architectural styles will be represented on the 2015 House Walk, including a Modern Victorian and Colonial American, to Shingle Style and an American Foursquare.

β€œThis year’s House Walk features a group of homes people will no doubt find really intriguing,” said Heather Locke, Event Chairperson in a statement. β€œThese are the homes you walk by at night and want to peek inside to see what they’ve done with it. The House Walk is your all access pass to step inside and see for yourself.”

Tickets can be purchased on the day of the walk at the Tower Green for $40, or for a reduced rate of $35 in advance at the following locations: Clever Girl, Design Studio, Grand Avenue Archives, Hillgrove Cellars, Thomas Ford Library, Tower Museum or online at WesternSpringsHistory.org.

Note: The La Grange Public Library is not selling tickets to the housewalk.
