Western Springs Man Accused Of Domestic Battery
He was taken into custody after fighting with a family member, police said.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter Monday. Here is information from the reports:
Domestic battery
- Zachary T. Groat, 29, of Western Springs, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 4300 block of Woodland Avenue on a charge of domestic battery. According to a police report, Groat was taken into custody after a fight with a family member.

- A resident in the 5100 block of Johnson Avenue reported Jan. 31 that several Instagram accounts were opened using her daughter’s name.
- A resident in the 4800 block of Central Avenue informed police Friday that she was the victim of a gift card scam when she called a phone number that she believed was for Mac Support. It apparently was not.
- A resident in the 5400 block of Caroline Avenue told police Saturday that his personal information was used in attempts to open several accounts and buy a vehicle.
Driving violations
- Stefan N. Kot, 40, of Summit, was cited about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Ogden and Clausen avenues on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no tail lights.
