Western Springs Man Accused in Domestic: Cops

  • A man reported that two people he had invited to his house Tuesday in the 5300 block of Johnson Avenue took $50 to $80 from his hands and ran away.

Driving violations

  • Arturo Alcarac, 47, of Des Plaines, was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday at Plainfield and Wolf roads on charges of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage. He was released on bond.

  • A college flag was reported stolen Tuesday from a porch in the 5000 block of Central Avenue.

Stolen bicycle

  • A resident in the 4900 block of Gilbert Avenue told police Wednesday that her son's bicycle was stolen while it was unlocked in a bike rack at Lyons Township High School. It was valued at more than $700.
