Western Springs Man Argues With Police: Report
The resident drove away from a traffic stop for speeding, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A Western Springs man was stopped for speeding nearly 20 mph above the speed limit last week, but that's not what got him arrested, police said.
Through a public records request, Patch obtained the police report for the arrest of Geoffrey E. Zabinski, 37, of Western Springs.
About 10:30 p.m. Saturday, an officer clocked Zabinksi going 53 mph in a 35 mph zone on 55th Street, the report said. He was stopped on Wolf Road, south of 51st Street.

While Zabinski's wife searched for their insurance card, Zabinksi became argumentative, asking where the violation occurred, police said.
After being uncooperative, Zabinksi drove away from the traffic stop as the officer stood at the driver's side window, according to the report.

Two officers then followed Zabinksi to his house in the 4000 block of Harvey Avenue, which is 1.7 miles from the traffic stop.
Zabinski parked in the garage and then was handcuffed and arrested, police said.
He was taken to the police station and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer.
The police said Zabinski had no criminal history that would have prompted him to flee.
