Western Springs Man Charged With Battery

He turned himself in for an incident that occurred a week earlier, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter. Here is information from the latest reports:

Battery

  • A 44-year-old Western Springs man who lives in the 5500 block of Woodland Drive was arrested Sunday on a battery charge. Police said the man turned himself in for an incident that occurred Jan. 8 at his home. He was released pending a court date. Patch filed a public records request for the full police report.

Theft

  • Someone stole a backpack from a woman's unlocked car Thursday in the Walgreens parking lot at 4700 Gilbert Ave. The backpack contained the woman's work laptop, among other items.

Fraud

  • A person in the 5500 block of Wolf Road reported being contacted by a company posing as Apple. It turned out to be a scam. The person's loss was $2,400. The report was filed Thursday.
