Western Springs Metra Office Reduces Service

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Metra is reducing the hours and days of its ticket agent office, the village announced Friday. The decision was blamed on decreased ridership because of the pandemic.

Effective Wednesday, the office will be staffed from 5:25 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, the village said. It is set to be closed Thursday and Friday. Riders are encouraged to buy tickets through the Ventra mobile app.

Metra has indicated it will re-evaluate its decision once the pandemic abates and ridership increases.
