Western Springs Official Dies

Trustee William Siffermann died as a result of a pre-existing condition, village president says.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs Trustee William Siffermann, who was elected to the Village Board in May 2017, died Thursday morning, Village President Alice Gallagher announced in a statement late Thursday afternoon. His work history included being a probation officer and a juvenile justice consultant, serving as a mentor to children facing difficulties, she said.

Siffermann died with his family around him, Gallagher said. His death was because of a pre-existing condition, she said.

The village president said Siffermann made "an amazing impact" on the village and that he was "a loving husband, devoted family man and a dedicated public servant."
