Western Springs Pedestrians Threatened By Driver: Cops
Police listed the incident as a simple assault. The driver reacted after the pedestrians asked her to slow down.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs released their latest police blotter Monday. Here is information from the reports:
- People walking their dog in the 400 block of 51st Street told police they yelled for a speeding driver to slow down about 5 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle approached them, and the driver yelled at the pedestrians. She then took a hammer from inside the car and struck her palm with it while making threatening statements. She then drove away. The crime was listed by police as a simple assault.
- Richard Esteban Garcia, 32, of Franklin Park, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Oct. 24 at Chestnut Street and Grove Avenue on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, no valid driver's license, operation of an uninsured vehicle, improper lane usage, driving in the wrong lane and disobeying a stop sign. He was released on bond.
- A fire hydrant at Maple Street and Grand Avenue was damaged, apparently from an unknown object, striking it and causing it to leak. It happened about 6:30 a.m. Oct. 25.
- A person in the 500 block of Hillgrove Avenue told police Wednesday that his business credit card was fraudulently used to make an online purchase of $1,000.
