Western Springs Picks New Leader

The new village president replaces the late Alice Gallagher.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – The Western Springs Village Board on Monday appointed Trustee Heidi Rudolph as the new acting president.

Rudolph, a trustee since 2017, replaces Alice Gallagher, who died unexpectedly March 21.

According to Rudolph's LinkedIn page, she has been a senior managing director at Morae Global for more than six years.

She has also worked in executive positions for AegisAdvantage, Sara Lee Corp., Sears Holding Corp. and Arthur Andersen.

She received her bachelor's degree in history and economics from Indiana University, according to her LinkedIn page. She graduated from Normal Community High School in Normal.

Rudolph and Trustee James Tyrrell are the longest-serving trustees. Gallagher was elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2021.

Rudolph's term as village president lasts through 2025.

Rudolph has been the chairwoman of the Village Board's Finance Committee.

Rudolph and her husband, Stephen, live with their family in the Old Town South neighborhood of Western Springs, according to the village.
