Western Springs Police Chief To Resign
He is becoming the chief of another suburban department.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs Police Chief Brian Budds plans to resign Nov. 3 after more than a quarter century with the local department, the village announced Tuesday.
He is becoming the police chief in Buffalo Grove, which is about three times the size of Western Springs.
In a news release, the village said it would appoint an interim chief.

Budds began his career in law enforcement with the Western Springs Police Department in 1996.
He has held several positions, including dispatcher, patrol officer, field training officer, detective, accident reconstructionist, sergeant, lieutenant and deputy chief. He has been the chief for six years.
