Western Springs Police Reports: Burglary, Credit Card Fraud

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through Jan. 12.

A burglar stole a women’s purse and a laptop Jan. 5 around 11:45 p.m. from a residence in the 3800 block of Wolf Road, according to Western Springs police. The purse contained credit cards, identification, a bracelet and about $140 cash. The laptop was worth about $1,100. These items were stolen from a lower level dining room after the burglar entered the home through an unlocked back sliding patio door, according to Western Springs police.

Someone used a victim’s credit card number from Dec. 5 to 27 to make 37 fraudulent purchases, which totaled $530.33, according to Western Springs police.

Someone used a victim’s credit card number Jan. 9 in California to make fraudulent purchases on the Internet, which totaled $396.30, according to Western Springs police.

Eric Perez, age 20 of 1162 North Russell Avenue, Aurora, was arrested Jan. 11 at 1:57 p.m. for driving without a valid driver’s license and speeding, according to Western Springs police. He was arrested at Grand Avenue and Ogden Avenue.
