Western Springs Police Reports: Holiday Decoration Theft, DUI

A thief stole a holiday decoration between Nov. 29 and 30 from the front lawn of a residence on the 4700 block of Lawn Avenue, according to Western Springs police. The stolen decoration is worth about $50.
A thief stole a holiday decoration between Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 from the front porch of a residence on the 700 block of 48th Street, according to Western Springs police. The stolen decoration is worth about $350.

Western Springs police arrested Sean S. Vesper, age 25 of 9427 Congress Park, Brookfield, IL, on Nov. 24 for retail theft from the Mariano’s on Gilbert Avenue. Vesper was charged with misdemeanor criminal complaint, according to Western Springs police. Police were called to the Mariano’s right after the theft occurred. When officers arrived, Vesper was outside of Mariano’s with stolen items worth $200.77, according to police.
Western Springs police arrested Anthony M. Rodriguez, age 21 of 107 Woodview Drive, Streamwood, IL, on Nov. 27 for driving under the influence. Police stopped Rodriguez near Ogden Avenue and Gilbert Avenue for speeding. The arresting officer noticed he had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, according to Western Springs police. Rodriguez performed field sobriety tests before he was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI – BAC of 0.08 or more and speeding, according to police.
