Western Springs Police Reports: Package Theft, Wallet Theft, Revoked License

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through April 13.

Jose L Rodriguez, age 49 of the 4000 block of Parrish Avenue, East Chicago, Indiana, was stopped April 12 for speeding at Ogden Avenue and Gilbert Avenue, according to Western Springs police. A records check showed he was driving on a revoked license.

Someone reportedly stole an unattended UPS parcel from a residential front porch in the 1300 block of Reid Street, according to Western Springs police. The theft took place sometime between April 2-4, and the package a retail value of $229.50, police reported.

A victim reported that someone used their personal credit card information to make 22 separate fraudulent retail transactions, totaling $1,858.31 over an undetermined period of time, according to Western Springs police.

Someone reportedly stole a wallet from an unattended purse on April 8 at about 9:50 a.m. inside Starbucks on Burlington Avenue, according to Western Springs police The offender also tried to make fraudulent retail purchases with the victim’s credit card.
