Western Springs Police Reports: Property Damage, Burglary

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through March 16.

The information in the following reports is courtesy of the Western Springs Police Department.

Someone damaged three decorative landscaping lights between 9 p.m. March 6 and 11 p.m. March 7 in the 300 block of Rugeley Road, according to Western Springs police. The lights were valued at about $200 each.

Holly M. Muir, age 19 of the 1000 block of Rice, Bellwood, was arrested March 9 at Ogden Avenue and Interstate-294, according to Western Springs police. She was stopped for improper lane usage, and a records check showed she was driving with a suspended license, and she had an outstanding arrest warrant for retail theft out of Schaumburg, police reported. Muir also had open alcohol containers and a small amount of suspected cannabis in the car. Muir was charged with driving while license suspended, possession of cannabis, arrest warrant, illegal transportation of alcohol, minor in possession of alcohol, no insurance, improper lane usage and only one red tail light, according to police.

Someone stole a power tool, valued at $100, and a men’s bicycle, valued at $1,000, between Feb. 1 and March 6 from an unlocked detached garage in the 1200 block of Walnut Street, according to Western Springs police. The burglaries took place on two separate occasions.

Eddie Trevino-Fonseca, age 35 of the 6800 block of South Pulaski Road, Chicago, was arrested around 3:07 a.m. March 12 at 47th Street and Gilbert Avenue for not having a valid driver’s license, suspended registration and no insurance, according to Western Springs.

John Talavera, age 48 of the 1900 block of West 34th Place, Chicago, was arrested March 13 and charged with felony aggravated battery, according to Western Springs police. The original incident took place March 7 in the 4700 block of Gilbert Avenue, in which police say Talavera intentionally hit an adult woman with his hand, causing visible facial injuries.
