Western Springs Police Reports: Theft, Alcohol Violation, Drug Possession

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through April 27.

Someone stole a decorative brass address sign measuring 12 inches by 24 inches on April 18 from the front yard of a residence in the 5100 block of Lawn Avenue, according to Western Springs police. The retail value of the sign was $150.

Police stopped two teenagers of Aurora on April 26 at Ogden Avenue and Hampton Avenue for speeding, according to Western Springs police. Police found they were in possession of an open bottle that contained alcohol. They were each issued local ordinance citations, police reported.

Police stopped a teenager of Berwyn for speeding April 27 at Ellington Avenue and Ogden Avenue, according to Western Springs police. He was in possession of a small amount of cannabis and an item of drug paraphernalia. He did not have insurance. He was issued local ordinance citations for the drug offenses and traffic tickets for speeding and not having insurance.
