Western Springs To Redo 7-Block Street
The project is made possible by a state Department of Transportation grant.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Thanks to a state grant, Western Springs plans to resurface Hampton Avenue from Hillgrove to Ogden avenues next year.
The seven-block street is eight-tenths of a mile.
At Monday's Village Board meeting, Trustee Al Fink told his colleagues that the village received a $925,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation for the project. The village must chip in another $231,000.

"We hoped for it to be this fall, but due to an issue with (the state), it didn't work out," said Jefferey Koza, the village's engineering director. "However, we were able to settle on June, which coincides with the dismissal of students from Laidlaw," a nearby elementary school.
