WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Scam

  • A resident in the 4600 block of Lawn Avenue reported being scammed out of $8,000 over the telephone. The report was filed Aug. 20. Patch has filed a public records request for the report.

  • Officers were called about suspicious activity shortly after 6 p.m. Aug. 18 in the 900 block of Burlington Avenue. They discovered a 22-year-old Chicago man had a white powdery substance. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Another man, who lives in Kissimmee, Florida, was cited on a charge of marijuana possession. His age was not given.

Vape device

  • A student at Lyons Township High School's South Campus, 4900 Willow Springs Road, was cited Aug. 19 on a charge of possession of a vape device by a minor.
