Western Springs Virus Situation Better Than Most
Village saw six more coronavirus cases in the last week.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs saw six more coronavirus cases in the last week, according to Cook County Public Health Department figures on Sunday. The previous week, the increase was nine cases. The village's situation is considerably better than nearby suburbs.

As of Sunday, Western Springs' number worked out to 2.9 cases per thousand, which compares wells to nearby towns — 4.5 in Clarendon Hills, 4.6 in Elmhurst, 5.3 in La Grange Park, 6.5 in Burr Ridge, 7.7 in DuPage County, 10 in Hinsdale and 10.5 in La Grange.

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 110,304, up 17 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 4,856 state residents.
Nationally, 1.7 million people have caught the virus, and 98,035 have died from it.
