Western Springs Warns About Wildlife
Village issues alert about animals, while other villages are focusing on the possibility of looters.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Other suburbs are focused on the possibility of looters coming to town. Meanwhile, Western Springs, which says it sees no "credible threats or a breach of peace," turned its attention to foxes and coyotes Monday afternoon.
Residents have recently reported various sightings of foxes and coyotes in the area, the village said in a Facebook post Monday afternoon. Some of the village's large, tree-filled yards and the village's closeness to several hundred acres of forest preserves to the north often mean that wildlife is nearby, the post said.
The village asks residents to refrain from feeding wild animals and exercise caution when children and pets are outside.
