Western Springs Water Bills Likely To Rise
The water and sewer accounts are in the red, an official said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs' water and sewer account is running in the red, so the village is looking to raise rates.
Consultants for Western Springs are conducting a water and sewer rate study, which is expected to reach the Village Board next month.
"The village hasn't changed its water and sewer rates for about nine years," Trustee Karen Martin said at Monday's board meeting.

The village's staff, she said, is putting together the water and sewer systems' infrastructure needs and operating costs.
The staff is also looking to create a system in which the village can look at rates every year, Martin said.

"It should be part of our annual review of fees," she said.
