Western Springs Woman Scammed Out Of $2,000: Cops

She told police about the fraud three hours after it happened.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

  • A woman in the 4600 block of Wolf Road told police Nov. 27 that she was scammed out of $2,000 over the telephone by a stranger. She contacted police about three hours after the scam.
  • A 39-year-old Downers Grove man was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Friday at Ellington Avenue and 39th Street on charges of no valid driver's license and driving with an expired registration.
  • A 54-year-old Lombard woman was arrested about 11 p.m. Saturday at Wolf Road and 47th Street on charges of driving on a suspended license and driving an uninsured car.
