Westmont Death Investigation Underway for Possible Stabbing Victim
Westmont police believe 25-year-old man found dead in apartment complex was specifically targeted.

Westmont police are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man who was found dead from possible stabbing wounds in an apartment building early Friday morning.
Officers responded to an apartment in the 6700 block of Lake Shore Drive around 2:15 a.m. where they discovered a male inside a third-floor apartment who appeared to have been stabbed.
The man, identified as Roy Feltson Jr., 25, of Hanover Park, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Westmont Police Chief Thomas Mulhearn said police believe the incident to isolated.
“I want to assure the residents of our community, that our investigation indicates this is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to our citizens or residents of the community,” Mulhearn said in a news advisory. “This was not random act, and was directed specifically towards the victim.”

Sgt. Stephen Thompson, spokesman for the Westmont Police Department said that the incident was specific to the “area where it took place and the people it took place with.” He would not comment if police had a person or persons of interest.
“We’re just 12 hours into the investigation,” Thompson said. “We still have a lot of stuff to sort out.”
The investigation is being conducted by the Westmont Police Department with the assistance of the DuPage County Coroner’s Office, the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department, and the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office.
