When Western Springs Italian Restaurant Plans To Open

The owner promises an "elegant" restaurant with many options.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A coming Italian restaurant in Western Springs is expected to open in a month, its owner said Thursday.

Owner Chris Elsey told Patch that he hoped to open the doors to Alano Ristorante, 821 Burlington Ave., on Nov. 20 or "maybe sooner." This is where Salerno's Pizzeria was until it closed in January.

Elsey owns the Hillgrove Tap locations in Western Springs and Tinley Park.

Elsey was also formerly the managing partner of Francesca's restaurants, which is a chain with locations in Elmhurst, Naperville and other suburbs.

In his liquor license application in Western Springs, Elsey described Alano as an "elegant Italian restaurant." The estimated price per person would be $30 to $45, based on alcoholic beverages, he said.
