1 Dead, 1 Wounded In Basketball Tournament Shooting, Boy Arrested
Two teens were shot at the Garfield Park Fieldhouse, and the accused shooter is a child, possibly as young as 11, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A 15-year-old boy was killed and a 14-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting outside the Garfield Park Fieldhouse Thursday night, while an even younger boy, described only as being between the ages of 11 and 13, was taken into custody, police said. The shooting happened during a fight outside a basketball tournament at the fieldhouse, police said.
Police broke up a large fight inside the fieldhouse on Central Park Avenue around 9 p.m. Shots were then fired outside the building, according to police.
The 15-year-old teen was shot in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The 14-year-old was shot in the stomach. He was taken to Stroger hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

Police said a person of interest is in custody, but released no further details. A weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
