1 Killed, 5 Wounded In Little Italy Shooting

A woman in her early 20s was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — Six people were shot in Chicago's Little Italy neighborhood Monday morning, police said. One of the victims, a woman between 20-25 years old, died at the scene, according to police. The shooting happened in the 1300 block of South Loomis Street around 4:50 a.m., police said.

A party was held on the block, police said. Two vehicles drove around the area several times, before someone started shooting, according to police.

The woman was shot multiple times, and was pronounced dead. A 17-year-old boy was shot multiple times in the head and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

A 23-year-old man was shot in the arm and a 21-year-old man was struck in the leg, police said. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition. Another 21-year-old man was found at Rush Hospital with a bullet wound in his leg, police said.

A man was shot multiple times in the abdomen and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, police said.

A weapon was found at the scene, and it may be a Mac-10, according to a report by ABC7. Area Central detectives were investigating.
