2 Arrested After Car Hits CTA Pink Line Train In Cicero
CTA said a driver tried to go around the warning gate.

CHICAGO, IL — A car hit a Pink Line Train early Thursday morning in Cicero. CTA said the driver of the car was injured after trying to go around the crossing gate. The train was approaching the station near 50th Avenue and 21st Place just before 2 a.m. when it was hit by a Silver 2013 Nissan, according to Town of Cicero spokesperson Ray Hanania.
Westbound Pink Line service was suspended for several hours between Central Park and 54th/Cermak. The CTA provided shuttle buses between the two stops.
A passenger on the train told CBS Chicago that he felt a "big crash" and then the lights and power went out. The passenger said he looked out the window and saw a car wedged up between the train and the broken grossing gate.
