2 Chicago Cops Hurt When Squad Car Hits Uber Driver During Police Chase
The officers were taken to the hospital and released Wednesday mornng after Tuesday night's accident.

CHICAGO, IL — Two Chicago police officers were hurt Tuesday when their squad car collided with an Uber driver during a chase on the West Side, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The officers were taken to Stroger Hospital on Tuesday in good condition, and no one else involved in the crash, the report stated. They were released from Stroger on Wednesday morning.
The chase started at around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the Lawndale neighborhood when police tried to pull over a silver SUV over a traffic infraction in the 42oo block of West Cullerton Street, the report stated. Pursuit continued into the University Village/Little Italy until the officers smashed into an Uber driver in his Nissan Sentra in the 1500 block of West Roosevelt Road, the report added.

The Sentra was traveling southbound on Ashland Avenue when the squad car hit and spun the vehicle, a 27-year-old, uninjured passenger in the Uber told the Tribune.
Police eventually caught up with the silver SUV that initiated the chase, pulling the driver over near 115tnd Doty Avenue, the report stated. No details have been released yet on whether the driver was charged in the chase and accident, and, if so, what those charges were.
