2 In Custody After Police Chase Ends In West Side Crash
The chase began in Palatine and reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — Two people are in custody after a police chase ended in a crash on the West Side Monday morning. The chase started in Palatine after a car burglary and shooting were reported to state police. Officers were called around 2 a.m. and notified that a stolen Mercedes Benz SUV was involved in the shooting, police said.
State police followed the SUV on I-90, then onto I-290, where police tried to pull the Mercedes over in Austin, according to police. The driver didn't stop, police said.
The chase continued on I-88 and Route 83, police said. The driver then turned the SUV around and drove back toward the city on the Eisenhower Expressway, police said.

The SUV crashed into an IDOT truck and another vehicle on the expressway in Little Italy near Racine Avenue, police said.
No injuries were reported.

Police said a weapon was found at the scene and two men were taken into custody. Illinois State Police said the suspects are being turned over to the Palatine Police Department.
