2 Innocent Bystanders Shot In Heart Of Chicago: Police
The shooting happened on the city's Lower West Side.

CHICAGO, IL — A man and a woman were shot and injured in the city's Heart of Chicago neighborhood Monday afternoon, police said. The victims, a 49-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man, were walking in the 2100 block of West Cermak around 1:30 p.m. when they were struck, according to authorities.
"Both victims were not the intended targets," police said.
A suspect was leaning out of the window of a red Jeep Cherokee and shooting at a silver car when both victims were hit, police said. The man was shot in the shoulder and taken to Stroger Hospital, and the woman was grazed in the abdomen and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. Both were listed as stable.

Police said the shootout damaged property in the surrounding area and caused two car crashes. According to the Chicago Tribune, at least five vehicles were damaged in the shootout.
No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating the shooting.
