3 In Custody After Police Chase, Fiery Crash In Garfield Park
It all began with a double shooting near West Walnut and Kedzie, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A double shooting led to a police chase and a fiery crash Tuesday afternoon on the West Side, police said. Three people are in custody after jumping out of the burning car and trying to get away, according to police. The double shooting happened in the 3200 block of West Walnut Street in East Garfield Park, police said.
Around 3:20 p.m., the driver of a gray Honda Civic and a passenger got out of the car and started shot at two men walking on the street, police said. One man was struck in the arm and the other in the left leg, according to police. They were taken to Stroger Hospital, where one man was listed in good condition and the other man's condition stabilized.
About ten minutes later, police tried to pull over the Civic in the 3700 block of West Jackson, authorities said. The driver of a Volvo SUV saw the police car and pulled over to the side of the road, and was then rear-ended by the Civic.

Three people jumped out of the Civic before the car caught on fire. They tried to run away, but were caught and taken into custody, police said.
Weapons were also recovered at the scene, according to police.
