3 Teens Shot, 2 Fatally, In Austin Home Invasion: Police

2 boys were killed and a 14-year-old girl survived when an armed robber opened fire on the West Side Thursday.

CHICAGO, IL — Three teens were shot, two fatally, in a home invasion Thursday evening in Chicago, police police said. An armed robber entered a home in the 5600 block of West Washington Boulevard around 5:45 p.m. and demanded property from three teens between the ages of 14 and 16.

One of the boys was shot in the back. Another was shot in the head. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Each were 15 or 16 years old.

A girl, 14, was also shot in the incident. She was hit in the lower leg but managed to get herself to West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, where her condition has been stabilized, according to police.

There was no description of the shooter immediately available. Police said Area North detectives are investigating.
